Re: [epub] Re: A Question
From: Eva Almeida <healthandmoneytips@healthandmoneytips.com>

Hi Rhonda,

I would like to add my opinion and personal experience
on this. I was going to stay out of this issue since I
had posted about it months back...but I wanted to clear
up a few things.

Yes, I agree that we shouldn't obsess about it but when
you read whole paragraphs from your original article
copied from another author in an article published in
two separate ezines the same day...it makes you a
little angry...at least it did with me!

Yes, they do and as Willie Crawford mentions, they are
doorways to your site as well...linking to you from all
over the internet.

My thoughts exactly! It takes me a lot of time to write
an article. I try to research the topic and come up with
my own twists...

Yes, we all know this is true from what other publishers
have emailed me. Even if they aren't lazy and add extra
paragraphs, to use someone's exact paragraphs and
sentences with inflections just doesn't make for an honest
business.

I didn't even think of it Rhonda, too expensive for a small
business like myself. Plus copyright only works on the
whole article, doesn't it? What about if you live in a
different country...could a Canadian sue an American?

>Articles aren't stolen by accident. It's deliberate, so

I did confront the author and told some of my close friends
about it. I did not pursue any legal action.

>That Publisher should be willing to run the apology.
>I certainly would.

I got an apology from the author who happens to be a
more experienced writer and marketer than myself.

I also emailed the publishers...the first was a friend
of mine and she was sorry about what happened.

The second publisher had no sympathy for me...hmmm...

So it can happen to anyone and you don't know what
you would do until you are faced with the situation.

My piece of advice would be to first confront the author
before any other action is taken.
