Dear David

Hi. It sure looks you've been putting the weekend to good
use, thinking. Hope your head doesn't hurt too much <grin>

I thought you'd like an excerpt from a series of articles I'm
writing for the Newsletter Coach website

http://www.newslettercoach.com/tutorial/

about the importance of your ezine having its own personality:

*********BEGIN EXCERPT************

DEVELOP YOUR EZINE'S PERSONALITY

At the beginning of this discussion I said CONTENT IS KING. The best
ezines provide extremely high quality content. They are very informative
or entertaining. They are also formatted beautifully and published regularly.

But is that alone a formula for success ?

No. Often I sit back and reflect over what I like the most in my favorite
ezines. The answer is almost always the same. In addition to content,
there is something more that makes a GREAT ezine. And that is
PERSONALITY.

The editors of these ezines make their publications stand out from
the crowd. They develop a uniqueness that differentiates them from
the rest. They reflect a portion of the editor's personality. They
give the reader a feel of the kind of person the editor is, his/her ideals,
values, ambitions and attitudes.

How can you achieve this ? I'm not sure. All I can say is

"BE YOURSELF - ALWAYS"

Those who like your approach will gravitate towards you. Those who
don't will leave. Here are some ideas:

- Write as you feel, not as you want to be seen or perceived
- It's ok to be opinionated or state your point of view
- Always give your reader top priority
- Stick by your values and ethics - always
- Be emotional, not rigidly logical

In the final analysis, if you love what you write about, it will show in
your work. And your readers will feel it too.

********END EXCERPT**********

Hope this helps
