Eva,

I'm just about to publish my ebook, "How to Beat eBay"
via fatbrain.com's eMatter.  I like it because it's
easy, I get control over my marketing copy, the cut at
50/50 is pretty good and it's really secure.  People
can't electronically steal stuff published via eMatter
(you know, by copying and pasting or forwarding it in
an email.)

Their online store gets about a million visitors a
week right now, which isn't bad traffic! 

I've heard they do make exceptions for really famous
authors, but otherwise you do have to do all your
marketing and editing yourself... which can be a
drawback for some people.  I'm a professional marketer
and writer though so it didn't bother me.
