EPUB Archives [Thread Prev][Thread Next][Thread]Re: [epub] early subscribers
From: "The Tinchers" <ljtinch@netins.net> Hi Donna, I just started my free weekly ezine called "Don't Worry, Be Happy!" two weeks ago, and I'm getting ready to launch another one, "Angel Tree." It's going to have articles about angels, plus it will have reader participation about their experiences with angels. I love angels, so this will be a piece of cake. How I advertised my first one was I offered to swap ads, and many wonderful people took me up on my offer. I explained I was new, meaning I had a very low subscriber base, and they all understood. It is very important to be up front with everyone. It seems to be pretty uneven to swap 1 for 1 when you're just starting off, I felt, so I offered 3 for 1. I offered also to wait a while until I had a stronger subscriber base before I ran their ad. They said "whatever you feel comfortable with." Many of them said that wasn't necessary, they were happy to help regardless. Another way I am advertising is I am offering my articles to other ezines. When an ezine runs your article they run the blurb that tells all about your ezine where the article came from. That helps your subscription base go up also. Give me a yell when you get started and I'll be happy to swap with you. I know you will find many very helpful people on the net. Many of them are probably right here on this list. My question to you is, did any of you advertise for subscribers before you were up and running? What kind of response did you get? With a limited advertising budget, I just wonder if as many people would sign up before it's up and going as would if it were already in action. Any comments are appreciated.
