Hi Sandy:

No, this is NOT what is supposed to happen.  This guy's just a jerk.  I'd tell
him where to get off and stop promoting him immediately.  The majority
of people you will come across in this business are reasonable, respectful
and helpful.  You should expect no less.  You will, unfortunately, come across
the occasional toxic variety too.  You don't need or want to do business with
them anyway.  Just steer clear of them and you'll be fine.
