I just have to say, I went to TotalSaturation.com, myself, and every 
sense of integrity and honest, straight-forward e-business decided to 
take a holiday for a bit.  And I had always wondered why the heck 
everytime I signed up for *anything,* I was almost instantly bombarded 
with advertisements from people I don't know about things I don't 
care about.  The good thing is, at least TotalSaturation can't get 
into moderated newsgroups (if you look at their form for having 
people sign up, it becomes pretty obvious why not: they need to 
be able to subscribe all of their users to it instantly, so 
reply messages and several forms of approval aren't possible).  
In short, if you have an unmoderated newsgroup, they have the ability 
to subscribe all of their advertisers to it, not to mention people 
like the ones you were describing.  I'm guessing you'd start 
getting advertisements popping up on your egroup as soon as you 
got one of these people inside it.

In any case, I just came off the web site, and I'm feeling a 
little...teeny bit...wanna KILL some webmasters right now, so 
this is my rant ;-P
