Both are methods used to obtain addresses. The Moondance addresses 
suddenly began receiving a barrage of email aimed at Afro-Americans. 
Since it began suddenly and we're not aimed at that target market, I 
knew our email addresses had been harvested. I telephoned one of the 
companies, and they referred me to the company who sold them the 
email addresses. The second company was selling their list as an 
opt-in list to a multitude of Afro-American companies.  Of course, 
the people I spoke with were upset because they believed they were 
buying a verified and targeted opt-in list. I'm sure the company who 
sold the lists made a good deal of money bilking their own clients 
after using the spiders to crawl the web.
